Smart home technology has been evolving at breakneck speeds for the last decade, but sadly the companies and individuals who consult, install and support these systems have not. What I've discovered is that "legacy" integrators are an impediment to the advancement of our industry. Antiquated design principals, archaic business models, as well as proprietary solutions not only add significant project cost, but ruin the overall customer experience.

MODIO is the culmination of all my experiences in and around the industry over the last 15 years. Most notably the 7 years it took to build out a “legacy” technology integration company (which was acquired), 2.5 years of doing high-level consulting for some of the largest smart home integration companies in the U.S., and lastly, 3 years working for a startup building out one of the most secure ways to move data across the public wire (internet). It's these experiences that have given me the vision and framework to modernize the smart home customer experience.
